Live Supervision of AI Voice Agent Calls
Watch AI voice agent calls as they happen, take over when a person is needed, and teach the agent from every conversation you review.

Handing calls to an AI voice agent doesn’t mean handing over control. Your team still needs to see what the agent is saying, step in when a caller needs a person, and make the agent better after every conversation.
That is what the OpenBrain Supervision screen is for. Here is how contact center agents and supervisors use it.
At a glance
- Watch every call as it happens
- Find the call you care about
- Take over in the middle of a call
- Redirect callers who ask for a real person
- Review the full conversation
- Teach the agent from what you see
- Follow up with the customer
1. Watch every call as it happens
The Supervision screen lists the calls of your voice agent in real time. At the top you see how many calls are active right now, and below them a list of recent calls, newest first. Each row shows:
- The caller’s number, partly masked to protect their privacy.
- The time of the call and the language.
- A status that tells you how the call ended or where it is now.
- A short note on what happened, such as the service the caller chose or the appointment that was booked.
2. Find the call you care about
You don’t need to scroll through hundreds of calls. Search by caller number or call ID, and narrow the list with filters for the project, the status and the environment (for example, production only). The statuses make the list easy to scan:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Success | The agent solved the request, for example by booking an appointment. |
| Redirected | The call was passed on to a person. |
| Hangup | The caller ended the call. |
| User not talking | The agent didn’t hear the caller. |
Looking only at redirected calls tells you where the agent needs help. Looking at hangups tells you where callers lose patience.
3. Take over in the middle of a call
Some calls need a human. A supervisor can listen in on a live call and, if the conversation needs it, take it over mid-conversation. The caller doesn’t start over, because the person who takes the call can see the whole conversation so far. There are two ways to do it:
- Option 1: in the browser. Your agents talk to the customer directly through the browser, and you supervise the live conversation from the same screen. No phone is needed.
- Option 2: through your phone system. Stop the AI and connect the caller to your call center’s phone system, such as Avaya or a similar platform, so the customer gets the real call with an agent there.
4. Redirect callers who ask for a real person
Callers shouldn’t have to fight a bot to reach a human. The agent understands when a caller wants to speak to a person, for example “I want to talk to a real person,” and connects them to your contact center immediately. The call then appears in your list with the status Redirected, so your team can see exactly where it was passed on.
Supervisors then spend their time on the calls that really need them, and callers never get stuck.
5. Review the full conversation
Open any call to see exactly what happened:
- The transcript, with what the caller said and how the agent answered, with timestamps.
- The recording, which you can play back at your own speed.
- Response times for each step, so you can see how fast the agent listened, thought and spoke.
- Debug messages that show why the agent chose a particular answer or action.
For a supervisor, this answers the question “why did it say that?” in a minute instead of a meeting.
6. Teach the agent from what you see
Reviewing a call is only useful if something changes afterwards. Under each conversation you can:
- Like an answer that went well.
- Comment on a specific moment, to explain what should have happened.
- Teach the Agent, to turn that conversation into an improvement for the next call.
Your supervisors’ comments become the to-do list for improving the agent. The agent gets better from real calls, not from guesswork, and the people who know your customers best are the ones teaching it.
7. Follow up with the customer
When a call ends without a solution, you don’t have to hope the customer calls back. From the same screen you can:
- Mark the call as unresolved, so it stays on your team’s list.
- Call the customer back directly.
Nothing gets lost between the AI and your team.
Why it matters
- Trust: you can see and hear what the agent does, not only read the numbers.
- Control: a person can step in at any moment.
- Quality: every reviewed call makes the next one better.
- Fewer repeat calls: unresolved cases are followed up, not forgotten.
